Green Fee Rates Our green fees vary greatly from what day and time you book. Terms and Conditions Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully before booking a tee time. TERMS AND CONDITIONS: These are the terms and conditions for booking tee times when using our Internet booking facility. TERMS Could you please ensure that all players are aware of the following AVAILABLE TEES FOR THE DAY RED - LADIES & INTERMEDIATE JUNIORS YELLOW - MEN / VISITORS & GROUPS WHITE & BLUE - MEMBERS ONLY In common with any members’ club, whether a member or visitor, we kindly request that some rules are followed. Members of staff and Course Marshalls are authorised to approach members and visitors if dress regulations are not being adhered to. CLUBHOUSE DRESS REGULATIONS • Smart casual clothing is acceptable in the Clubhouse • Tracksuits, Sports Shirts, Sleeveless shirts and ripped jeans may not be worn in the Clubhouse • Smart casual T-shirts are allowed • Spiked or rubber soled golf shoes may be worn in the Clubhouse, Locker Room and Reception, providing they are clean • Tailored shorts may be worn; men must wear trainers/shoes, however socks are not mandatory • No hats to be worn in the clubhouse area GOLF COURSES AND PRACTICE AREA • Standard golfing attire which is deemed acceptable by the management. • Shirts to be tucked in whilst playing on both courses • Jeans and collarless T-shirts are not permitted on the courses at any time. Ladies may wear sleeveless shirts provided they are tailored • Tracksuits & Sports teams shirts are not acceptable on the courses, Driving Range or any other practice facility • Golf shoes must be worn on both of the courses. It is acceptable to wear training shoes on the Driving Range • Tailored shorts (No Cargo Pockets) may be worn with ankle length socks • Each player must have a set of clubs. (They can be hired from reception) MOBILE TELEPHONES Mobile telephones are permitted in the Clubhouse, Driving Range, practice areas and for emergency use on both courses only. However, we do ask that you respect other Members when making or receiving calls PLEASE AVOID SLOW PLAY AND KEEP UP WITH THE GROUP IN FRONT Slow Play Keep up with the game in front. Once you have lost a hole you may be asked by the Marshal to stand aside and call the game behind through. RULES OF GOLF page 19 Pace of Play. It’s the group’s responsibility to keep up with the game in front. If it loses a clear hole and is delaying the game behind it should invite the group behind to play through irrespective of the numbers in that group. Payment To book a tee time on-line you will be required to pay a 50% deposit per person for green fees booked more than 4 days in advance. Bookings made within 4 days require full payment in advance. This can be done either by debit or credit card and the remaining balance should be paid on your arrival at the Club House Reception. On arrival at the Golf Club you will need to report to the Club House Reception with your unique booking reference number, in order to collect your scorecard and bag tags. Cancellation Policy Cancellation of your booking can only be carried out by contacting the club either by phone or via email quoting your unique reference number to receive a full refund of your deposit a minimum 24 hours notice of your cancellation is required. If you cancel your Tee Time with less than 24 hours notice or fail to inform us then your deposit will be non-refundable. Bad Weather Policy Lightning: In the event of lightning, golfers out on the courses are advised to cease playing. They should go to the Clubhouse until the lightning has moved away. Then they may return to their places on the course and complete their round. If green fee-paying golfers decide to abandon their round, rather than wait for the lightning to cease, refunds will not apply. Golfers on the first tee will be advised of any lightning that is evident or imminent close to Essendon but it is their decision whether or not to play. If they miss their tee-time as a result, reasonable endeavours will be made to reschedule either later that day or the following day depending on availability. If visiting golfers' tee times cannot be rescheduled, a refund will be offered. In an organised event, the decision to suspend or stop play lies with the tournament organiser. In the case of Essendon tournaments, the responsibility lies with The General Manager or staff running the tournament. Fog: In the event of fog while on the golf courses, the decision to stop or continue play lies with the golfers. Golfers on the first tee will be advised of the conditions by the starter. If golfers decide not to start, reasonable endeavours will be made to reschedule either later that day or the following day depending on availability. If visitors cannot reschedule, a refund will be offered. If golfers decide to play but do not complete 18 holes, refunds will not apply. In an organised event, the decision to suspend or stop play lies with the tournament organiser. In the case of Essendon Tournaments, the responsibility lies with the General Manager or staff running the tournament. At all times golfers must be alert for members of the public using the rights of way which pass through Essendon CC. Heavy Rain: When heavy rain is expected, the holes are moved to high ground, where possible. If it is still impossible to putt out then the course will be temporarily closed and play suspended. Golfers on the course should take shelter. When it is possible for play to restart, golfers should resume their game at their places on the course. If golfers decide to abandon their round, rather than wait for the rain to cease, refunds will not apply. Golfers on the first tee will be advised that the course is temporarily closed and reasonable endeavours will be made to re-schedule, but they may lose their starting time. If visiting golfers' times cannot be re-scheduled they will be offered a refund. In an organised event, the decision to suspend or stop play lies with the tournament organiser. In the case of Essendon tournaments, the responsibility lies with the General Manager or staff running the tournament. Frost: Playing golf in frosty conditions can cause irreparable damage to the playing surfaces at Essendon Country Club. Therefore when frost is evident, the Course Manager will delay play until the temperature has risen to a level that will allow a satisfactory thaw to take place, thereby reducing the possibility of damage to the grasses. If golfers miss their tee-time as a result of the course being closed due to frost, reasonable endeavours will be made to re-schedule either later that day or the following day depending on availability. If visiting golfers’ tee-times cannot be re-scheduled a refund will be offered. Snow: On occasions where snow has fallen the Course Manager or General Manager will delay play until the conditions change and the course becomes playable again. If golfers miss their tee-time as a result of the course being closed due to snow, reasonable endeavours will be made to re-schedule either later that day or the following day depending on availability. If visiting golfers’ tee-times cannot be re-scheduled a refund will be offered. Competitions: If in the opinion of the organiser or Head Green keeper, it becomes impossible to complete a competition because of adverse weather or other circumstances, the organiser/s may vary the conditions to the extent necessary to achieve a result within the time available. This may include full postponement. Essendon Country Club will not tolerate any threatening, violent behaviour, be it verbal or physical or any other behaviour that the management deems inappropriate towards staff, members or visitors, either on the golf course, in the club house or its surrounds. If such an incidence occurs the Management reserves the right to ask the customer to leave the premises AT ANY TIME, without refunding their money, or part thereof, and should it be felt necessary will be banned from returning. Booking transferable The Booking is Transferable. Therefore, should you be unable to make your tee time, you can transfer the tee time to another golfer. Handicaps This facility is only available to golfers who have a handicap of 28 or less (men) or 36 or less (ladies). If you don't have a handicap, you must be able to play to an equivalent standard. Etiquette and Dress on the Golf Course When playing on the golf course each player must have their own set of clubs (Golf clubs are available to hire from reception if required) and abide by the following dress code: Footwear: Golf shoes only, no trainers. (Golf Shoes are available to hire if required) Clothing: Standard golf attire which is deemed acceptable by the Management. Not allowed: Denim, Shirts or Tee-Shirts bearing logos including Football and Rugby Shirts. Etiquette and Dress in the Club House Smart casual dress wear to be worn in the Club House. Soft spike shoes may be worn as long as they are clean. (Footwear must be worn at all times). Not Allowed: Scruffy Denims, Track Suits, Shirts or Tee-Shirts bearing logos including Football and Rugby Shirts wet or muddy clothing caps or hats. Slow Play At Essendon Country Club we have a policy in place to avoid slow play and all golfers are required to adhere to the following policy: All players must be at the 1st tee ten minutes prior to their allocated tee time. We allow approximately 14 minutes per hole for an average four ball, if you are taking longer than the average time, you are required to pick up and move onto the next hole. Should you find you are falling behind and are able to do so, please allow the group behind to pass through. Privacy Policy Any Personal information we obtain whilst you make use of our website will not be passed on to any third party. The Company though, may from time to time send you via email, post or phone, information which you may find of interest. This may consist of any special offers, promotions etc that we are promoting at the time. This information will only be sent if you have indicated on the contact form that you are happy to receive this information. Golf Buggies Buggy Information. The club has a number of buggies that can be booked. If you require a buggy, you should enter this in the booking form. Buggies are at the discretion of the club and sometimes will be not allowed on the course due to wet conditions. A refundable £20 deposit is required. Bookings of Golf Clubs, Trolleys, Caddies, Restaurant, etc If you require to book golf clubs, trolleys, caddies, restaurant, etc you should enter these requirements in the booking form or alternatively you can contact the club directly by phone on 01707 260 360.
