Booking Terms and Conditions ========================= These are as summary the terms and conditions for booking tee times and playing at Alford Golf Club. By making a booking, you and your party agree to abide by the terms below. The full terms and conditions can be found on our website alfordgolfclub.co.uk. Payment ======= Payment is required at the time of booking for the booking to be valid. Cancellation & Refund Policy ======================= You may cancel your booking at any time up to 48 hours (7 days for Opens) before your scheduled tee time and you will receive a full refund. No refunds will be given if you cancel within 48 hours (7 days for Opens) of the scheduled tee time or fail to cancel the booking. To cancel your booking, contact Alford Golf Club by email, bookings@alfordgolfclub.com or telephone, 01975 562178. Please remember your booking details as they will be required to confirm the cancellation. Note that any refunds will only be made to the person who originally made the booking. Booking Transferable ================= Your booking is transferable therefore, should you be unable to make your tee time, you can offer the tee time to someone else such as a family member or friend. Please ensure that they know in whose name the booking was made and ideally have a copy of the booking confirmation with them. Course Closed or Play Suspended/Abandoned ===================================== If you are unable to start your round of golf because the course is closed then the booking can be transferred to a different day/time or a full refund will be given. If the course is closed after you have started your play and there is no realistic prospect of reopening within a reasonable time, then the booking can be transferred, at no cost, to an alternative day/time but no refund will be available. Special arrangements apply in the case of an Open that is abandoned or suspended once play has started – see below. Handicaps ======== This facility is only available to golfers who can play to a safe standard. If you don't have a handicap, you must be able to play to an equivalent standard. A player may be asked to leave the course if they do not reach an appropriate standard such that they are danger to themselves, others using the course or to the course itself. In such circumstances, no refunds will be given. To enter an Open you must have a current playing handicap issued by one of the UK national Golf Unions. Anyone booking but not conforming to this will be allowed to play BUT they will not take part in the competition and hence will not be eligible to win any prize. NO refund will be given. Arriving at the course ================== You must report to the club shop before beginning your round. If the club shop is closed, you must go to the bar to check in. Dress Code ========= Players should be dressed appropriately for playing golf. Shirts must be worn at all times. Appropriate golfing footwear must be worn while on the course. No golf shoes of any description shall be worn in the clubhouse lounges. Safety ===== It is imperative that players read the club's Lightning policy posted on the notice board next to the club shop. All players are required to follow the procedure without question, should the need arise. Suspension of Play or closure of the course after play has started for Opens ============================================================= Although rare, it is possible that an Open competition may need to be abandoned once it has started or play may need to be suspended for a time. Should either of these happen then the following shall apply. A result will be declared if 50% of the booked field have completed their rounds. All prizes will be reduced pro rata based on the number of players/team that have completed their round. For example, if 80% of the field has completed then prizes will be reduced to 80% of the original value. Only completed rounds can be considered in determining any prizes. It is acknowledged that these arrangements are not part of the R&A Rules of Golf but they are part of the rules of our Open Competitions and hence the decision of the Committee's representative shall be final. If less than 50% of the field have completed their rounds then the competition shall be void and full refunds will be made to all players/teams. We will endeavour to find a replacement date though new bookings would need to be made – we will not be able to transfer existing bookings to any new date. In cases of the closure of the course for the rest of the day, full refunds will be made to those who were unable to complete their rounds by the point when play was abandoned by the Committee. If there is a suspension of play, rather than a complete abandonment, and that suspension is longer than 90 minutes, then full-refunds will be made to those players/teams who do not complete their rounds following the suspension. Note that no refunds will be given to any players who walk off the course before the Committee has abandoned or suspended play. Golf Buggies The club has 4 buggies available for hire. These must be booked in advance and can be requested on the booking form. No alcohol consumption is permitted or alcohol to be carried in buggies. The Head Greenkeeper and the Starter reserve the right to withdraw use of buggies in certain weather conditions. Inappropriate conduct or unsafe conduct in buggies will result in immediate withdrawal of the buggy. No refunds will be offered when a buggy has been recalled due to misuse. Bookings of Golf Clubs, Trolleys, Caddies, Restaurant, etc If you require to book golf clubs, trolleys, caddies, restaurant, etc you should enter these requirements in the booking form or alternatively you can contact the club directly by phone on 01975 562178.
